Description The Romanian lecturer held a seminar as part of the research project Translating Cultures of Institutt for moderne fremmedspråk. The title was The Image of the Romanians in the Travelling Impressions of Middle Ages Scandinavians and it consisted of the presentation of the first ever translation in English of the following papers: The Account of the Travel in Wallachia, By Paul Strassburg, Secret Counsellor of the King of Sweden and Messenger to the Sultan Murad the 4th , 1631 (manuscript in Latin, translated in Romanian in 1867 by Timotei Cipariu) and The Account of the Swedish Diplomatic Agent Iohann Mayer Concerning His Journey through Moldavia, May, 12th – 31st, 1651 (manuscript in German, translated in Romanian in 1973). This was of great interest to the nine members of NTNU who took part in the seminar: Bordemann, Suzanne, Assistant Professor; Chabert, George, Professor; Goring, Paul Michael, Professor; Halvorsen, Arne, Professor; Hawthorn, Jeremy, Professor; Naterstad, Svanhild; Sivertsen, Ingvald, Associate Professor; Hesjevoll, Inger, PhD Candidate; Chung Hon Kwan, student in Romanian language
