Description

The conservation department attend and preserve archaeological and historical objects from the museum collection or on assignment of archaeology companies and other institutions.

Equipment and resources

The conservation department has three vacuum freeze dryers (Northstar and Labconco), of which the largest has a chamber that measures 75 cm/diam x 150 cm deep.

From April 2018 the museum storage also possesses a PIVAB Dent Extend Mobile, which is a secluded “room-in-a-room” that provides a dust-free environment through a filtered draft.

The vaccum freezedryers are used for drying waterlogged objects.

The PIVAB Dent Extend Mobil can be used for various demanding jobs including painting, grinding, handling dusty or dirty objects, etc.
