Epidemiology is the study of the distribution and determinants of disease in a population. Our research group investigates how the external environment, lifestyle factors and concomitant comorbidities affect human health. Specific focus areas are environmental pollutants (e.g. PFAS), tattoos and pain. The research combines extensive data collection in the field and national questionnaire surveys with information from population registers and biobanks. We are currently building two large research infrastructures: the Ronneby Mother-Child Cohort and the Swedish Tattoo Cohort.
