Our research is focused on the health and well-being of older people. Good care and welfare should include the provision of support directed towards enabling older people to assume responsibility for their own health and care, even if their health problems are considerable. In the face of demographic challenges, high-quality care and welfare presupposes innovative thinking and close collaboration between researchers, care staff, next of kin and the older people themselves. Our main research areas is: Person-centred care for older people throughout the care chain, Case management within care and welfare for older people, Care of older people with multimorbidity in need of acute care, The care and welfare chain in respect of people with dementia and their next of kin, Health and good care for older people with life-long intellectual disabilities and Implementation of Knowledge-Based Palliative Care for Frail Older Persons in Nursing Homes.
