Description

Biomedical Engineering in the academic field related to how technologies are applied to diagnostics and treatments in healthcare, and includes utilization and applications of the latest technology to develop instruments, sensors and transducers, diagnostic and therapeutic devices, medical imaging systems, and artificial organs. The development of medical devices strives towards patient friendly, safer and reliable methods.

Research

The research area covers mainly ultrasound technologies for diagnostic and therapeutic applications, medical imaging , hyperpolarized MR, and patient safety and quality improvement. Research and development is carried out in close collaboration with medical researchers within the Faculty of Medicine, as well as researchers at Lund Institute of Technology, and with personnel within the healthcare organization in Region Skåne.
