Description

The department consists of the following divisions: Division of ALM and Digital Cultures, Division of Book History, Division of Ethnology, Divison of Publishing Studies, Divison of History of Ideas and Sciences, Divison of Intermedia Studies, Division of Art History and Visual Studies, Divison of Fashion Sciences, Division of Musicology, Centre for Oresund Region Studies and Sound Environment Centre.

Research

The Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences gathers a large set of disciplines. The multitude of fields of interest, themes and directions is rich and interdisciplinary. This multitude is constructed from each discipline. Partly they coincide in a set of profile areas. Currently, these profile areas are organised through four research nodes: Digital culture Analogue culture EcoCulture Medicial humanities At the department, there are six PhD programs: Art history and visual studies, Book history, Ethnology, History of ideas, Information Studies and Musicology. The Cultural Sciences Research Seminar is the most important common arena of the department for academic discussion and critic.
