The research area is human and organisational factors related to risk and safety management. The general research focus is on the development of methods and tools for identifying system weaknesses in safety critical organisations. Special focus is on the areas of safety culture, safety management, learning for safety, and proactive emergency management.

The research is often multidisciplinary and is performed in different sectors such as air traffic control, shipping industry, process industry and nuclear industry.

I am a member of Lund University's Centre for Risk Assessment and Management (LUCRAM) and take part in activities in the Centre for Medicine and Technology for Working Life and Society at Lund University (METALUND).
