I received my PhD in Geotechnical Engineering at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, UPC) in 2017. The thesis was aimed at investigating the impact of biomass accumulation on the hydraulic properties of soils. After the PhD (2018), I started as a postdoc in Microbial Ecology (Lund University), where I am currently working in close collaboration with experimentalist and modelers in order to incorporate ecological insights into pore- and field-scale biogeochemical models for soils. My work consists essentially in characterizing and modeling the response of microbial communities to different environmental stresses.
