My current research primarily focuses on mitochondrial physiology and pathophysiology in the pancreatic β-cell. Projects include looking into the role of arginine metabolism in β-cell dysfunction, elucidating the role of mitochondrial Ca2+ uptake in β-cell Ca2+ signalling, and exploring the enigmatic effects of fatty acids on β-cell mitochondrial output.
