Research

I am a statistician and health economist whose research revolves around methodological development, epidemiology, and health and labor economics. In particular, I have studied the relationships between health status, health behaviors, education, and labor market outcomes - both how these interplay over the life-cycle, and how they are related across generations. In addition to this, I am interested in the health care sector and the effects of economic incentives. My research has a strong emphasis on addressing causality, making use of instrumental variables, fixed effects, regression discontinuity design, and estimation of potential outcomes. I also teach statistics at the master and PhD levels.
