I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics at Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM).
The overarching perspective of my research interests is how information systems can help organisations achieve their goals. Back in the days, this was labelled as "system development" but today, "organisational development through ICT" is a better description. This because we know that there is a fusion of organisational objectives and information systems into "business technologies" - being the very basis of the all-encompassing digital transformation that we live in today.
This interest of mine once began with a dissertation on what kind of species mobile computing is, accompanied by design propositions on how to develop mobile information systems for the digital ranger. After that, my focus has broadened to also include design and use of other types of business technologies, such as m-Health, e-Health, as well as ICT-based innovations and business models.
I review publications in journals and conferences such as the Scandinavian Journal of Information Systems, Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics, International Conference on Information Systems, European Conference on Information Systems, Information System Development Conference, Mobile Health, Business Research in Informatics, Mobile Response, and Americas Conference on Information Systems. Also assigned as associate editor at the Journal of Decision Systems, member of eHealth@lund, and affiliated senior with the Swedish Research School of Management and IT (MIT)
I belonged to the Supporting-LIFE research project, investigating the use of mobile technologies to improve healthcare in Sub-Saharan Africa. Also assigned as a research advisor at A Medic, a non-profit organisation developing sustainable mHealth solutions in LMCI in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Besides research, I also teach and supervise at bachelor, master and doctoral level at the department. Also doing some external assignments such as guest lecturer at University of Calabria (Italy) in project management, at Copenhagen Business School (Denmark) in system development, University of Verona (Italy) in enterprise resource planning systems, and at Deusto University (Spain) in business process modelling. Besides academia, some work in the industry and the public sector on change management and digital transformation.
