I investigate electromagnetic energy stored around radiating structures. This energy is notoriously difficult to define due to ambiguity in the concept of storage for electromagnetic systems. The main application of this research is small antennas, such as those found in mobile phones. Stored energy is closely connected to bandwidth, which frequencies antennas can receive and send power at, and thus very useful to calculate for antenna applications where bandwidth is at a premium.
