  • Chronic rejection after lung transplantation
  • Pathological alterations of the extracellular matrix in chronic lung diseases
  • Interplay of the extracellular matrix and structural/immune cells in fibrosis
  • Novel in-vitro systems to study physiological/pathological processes in the lung


  • Design, conduct and analysis of my own research projects
  • Participation in research projects embedded in the common theme of the group (chronic lung diseases)
  • Coordination of national/international collaborators
  • Presentation of research outcomes (publication of articles, presentation at local/national/international conferences and meetings)
  • Supervision of students (summer students, bachelor/master students)
  • Teaching (laboratory courses, PBL - problem-based learning)
  • Responsible for technical equipment (e.g. Olympus slide scanner, Visiopharm advanced histology program)
