Research

I am associate professor in health science and senior lecturer in physiotherapy. I graduated in 1985 at Lund University and I took my PhD in 2004. My thesis was based on a rehabilitation model for trans-femoral amputees, which I have developed on the basis of physiotherapeutic, orthopaedic, and neurological theories. During this time I managed the first 3-dimensional motion lab in the Nordic countries, which was a very interesting period.

My area of interest is broad. I am collaborating with PRO-CARE for several years, which is a research platform at Kristianstad University. I have investigated fall risk and nutrition among older adults, and evaluated prioritized aspect among persons with Parkinson´s disease. During this work we have used Group Concept Mapping, which combines quantitative and qualitative methods. At present, I am also involved in a project investigating how people with post-polio perceive ageing. The central theme in my research is the person-centred perspective.
