My current research is to investigate the role of melatonin signalling on islet cell function and whole-body metabolism. I utilise mouse models with a disruption in the melatonin receptors and islet secretion assays as tools to investigate how melatonin can negatively impact islet cell health.

I have secrured a European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD)/Lilly Young Investigator Award and funding from the Påhlssons Foundation towards conducting of this research project.
