I have a MSc in nutrition from Stockholm University, a PhD (2009) in public health and nutritional epidemiology from Lund University, and is associate professor (docent) in nutritional epidemiology. I have previously been a visiting researcher at Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute, CA, USA. My current research interest includes the interaction between genetic and dietary factors for obesity, type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia and cardiovascular disease. My main focus is to clarify the importance of carbohydrate quality, especially sugar, on human health. I have funding from the Swedish Research Council, Swedish society for medical research (SSMF), Heart and Lung Foundation, Crafoord foundation, Påhlsson foundation and ALF. I am also involved in international collaborations on gene-environment interaction analyzes.
