Research

Emma has a PhD in Business Administration with a specialty in Marketing from Stockholm Business School, Stockholm University, a Master degree i Marketing and Management and a Bachelor degree in Media and Communication. Her research centres on place branding, sustainable tourism and smart cities, and her PhD research was on the branding of Chinese mega-cities. Emma is currently working in the research project TiMS (The Role of Tourism in Multicultural Societies) where she studies the branding and developoment of sustainable destinations. She is also working in the EU project URBiNAT, focusing on regeneration of social housing areas in European and non-European cities.
