My main research areas are long-term socio-economic development, technological change, industrial revolutions and socio-institutional change. I mainly focus on the institutional and political aspects of long term economic growth, and how radical technological transformation induces socio-institutional change during this process. Moreoever, resistance and rent-seeking activities of "loser" groups during technological and institutional change is another concern of my research. To this aim, I mainly focus on United Kingdom, as technologically leading country of the era, during late 18th and 19th centuries.
