In current molecular cancer research, large scale profiling is typically performed using DNA and RNA measurements. However, proteins are the main machinery of living cells, and proteins undergo post-processing events, which impacts their functionality. Protein profiling could thus improve our understanding of cancer biology. We are using mass spectrometry for protein profiling, and most of our research is dedicated to improving computational methods for processing and analysis of mass spectrometry data, to enable highly resolved, comprehensive measurements. We apply the methods in different collaborative projects with other research groups.
