My research is grounded on the idea that better pharmaceutical packaging impacts on better quality of life, especially in later life. Regardless of the importance and critical role of pharmaceutical packaging to adherence and cost of treatment for patients (especially older patients), yet a very limited research focuses on it. My project is interdisciplinary, involving different stakeholders of pharmaceutical packaging development. As a researcher, I am particularly interested in learning more about pharmaceuticals, and the global perspectives of healthcare with greater focus on the patient and the use of medicines – where there are many opportunities for packaging design. My doctoral project has the originality of bringing a design and innovation perspective to the pharmaceutical field.
