Jakob Helander

Research

Jakob Helander received his M.Sc. in Engineering Physics from Lund university in 2014. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the Electromagnetic Theory Group, Department of Electrical and Information Technology at Lund university. He is the supervisor for the winning team of the IEEE Antenna Design Contest 2015, and his research interests include computational electromagnetics, antenna design and optimization.

He is currently working in two research projects, both financed through the National Aviation Engineering Research Programme (NFFP). Some of his current research topics are listed below:

 

- Developing and extending a hybrid in-house Method of Moments (MoM) code to include state-of-the-art compression methods, as well as an algebraic acceleration method. This work is primarily done together with PhD student Doruk Tayli.

- Developing imaging techniques for diagnostic purposes of composite panels. This work is primarily done together with PhD student Andreas Ericsson.
