My research focuses primarily on how firms build up links to international markets through imports and exports, and how trade in turn affects individuals, companies and regions. In addition, I am also interested in the food chain and I have published articles and reports focusing on biodiversity, farm productivity, labour mobility, competitiveness and regional growth.

My teaching portfolio focuses on international economics and I give for the moment a course called Advanced Trade Theory at Lund University. Other topics in my teaching portfolio are the Common Agricultural Policy, Economic Integration, Food Economics and International Economics (basic level). In addition to Lund University, I have taught at Trapca (Arusha, Tanzania), University of Copenhagen and the University of Nottingham.

Professional work

I have been associated with Trapca (Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa) since 2007 as a deputy academic director (which implies that I should develop trapca courses and improve the learning experience of students). I have also worked at AgriFood Economics Centre (a research institute focusing on the food chain) between 2001 and 2011 before I joined the Department of Economics in 2011. In addition, I have been a board member of Mistra Biotech since 2012 (an interdisciplinary research program on biotechnology in agriculture).
