Current Research

In both research and teaching Karl Dahlstrand focuses on how the knowledge of social science is made relevant: in the legal profession in general, in legislation and in the application of law.

The research project "Violation in a Digital Context", shared with Måns Svensson, is funded by the The Swedish Fund for Victims of Crime and is part of the research team Cyber Norms.

The project concerns defamation in the social media. Although acts of violation online have appeared to increase, the way in which people measure these violations, compared to those in a non-digital context, is still very uncertain. The research is carried out in collaboration with The Swedish National Board for Youth Affairs (Ungdomsstyrelsen), Landskrona City and The Research Network in Skåne.
