Research

Lea Fuenfschilling is an associate senior lecturer (assistant professor) at CIRCLE, Department of Design Sciences, Lund University. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Basel in Switzerland. Her dissertation is entitled „A dynamic model of socio-technical change. Institutions, actors and technology in interaction” and was published in 2014.

Her current research interests are centered around understanding the dynamics of sustainability transitions in various industries (e.g. water, chemicals, transport or forrestry). Special attention is thereby devoted to the role of transformative innovation policies and the development of an analytical framework that conceptualizes transitions as (de-)Institutionalization processes of socio-technical systems.

She is the coordinator of the Swedish Transformative Innovation Policy Platform (STIPP)

She is furthermore an active board member of the Sustainability Transition Research Network (STRN).
