My research interests reside in cultural studies, life writing, feminist theory, and narrative studies. I specialize in life writing across media. I am interested in what it is that we tell when we tell our own story and what the audience desires in autobiographical narratives.

Currently, I am a researcher within the interdisciplinary project, Rape in Sweden 1990-2013: historical intersectional perspective of rape narratives in different genres (2015-2018) funded by the Swedish Research Council. In this project, I explore experiential stories of sexual violence that have been published online in connection to various Swedish campaigns against sexual violence. Experiential narratives have been in long use in feminist politics, but how specifically are they used in the current political campaigns on sexual violence?  The end goal of the larger project is to understand how the narratives of rape in different domains (news media, social media, the courtroom) communicate with each other.  What changes in discourse can be discerned and how is change instigated?
