Most of my research concerns aspects of the health care system; in particular, incentives in publicly financed health care, determinants of patients' choices of health care provider and effects of competition in primary care. I am also involved in a project on financial strain and mental health.


For the past years, I have been teaching on a course called Introduction to public economics, which is part of the master programme in Welfare Policy and Management at the Political Science Department.

Results from ongoing and previous projects have been disseminated to policy makers in popular articles (Ekonomisk debatt, Kommunalekonomen), reports (KEFU - Kommunalekonomisk forskning och utbildning), policy seminars (Region Skåne, Folkhälsomyndigheten, KEFU), and governmental reports (SOU 2018:38).

Since 2019, I am one of the editors of the Swedish popular science magazine Ekonomisk Debatt.
