I am Associate Professor in the research group Child and Family Health and Reproductive Health, Institution for Health Sciences at Lund University. I am a midwife and a doctor of philosophy. My doctoral thesis, 2006, was concerned with care and treatment of women with lactational mastitis.

I am principal supervisor for a doctoral candidate, Petra Pålsson, who in her research work will develop new models for parental preparation based on the needs of first-time parents. I am part of an international research group that has it’s base at Washington State University, USA. It is the groups’ hope that in the near future we will be able to describe the human milk microbiome from geographical and anthropological perspectives. I supervise a midwife who is carrying out two studies about fear of childbirth: one is an RCT on the treatment of childbirth fear using Art Therapy and the second is an interview study with women who have experienced this therapy. I am also supervisor for a midwife who is studying the occurrence of Candida Albicans in the breast milk of women with and without symptoms of  ”thrush” in the breast during the breastfeeding period.
