Peter Rådström, born 1959, is professor and head of Applied Microbiology, Lund University since 2000. His area of expertise is applied microbiology, in particular carbohydrate metabolism in lactic acid bacteria (Functional foods), pre-PCR processing (Diagnostic PCR and Forensic DNA analysis), neurotoxin formation in Clostridium botulinum and Staphylococcus aureus (Food safety) and microbial biofilms in drinking water (Water quality). He has published more than 120 original scientific papers in international journals with peer review. He was co-organizer of FEMS Congress 2009 (1500 participants) and Food Micro 2010 (800 participants) and is the national delegate of the International Committee on Food Microbiology and Hygiene (ICFMH) of the IUMS.
