Research

My research focus is to develop an automatic fault handling process for district heating substations by using data acquired from the district heating customers. Today, many of the customer substations contain issues such as valves that are stuck in an open/closed position or customers changing the control settings in the substation controller so that heat is transferred in a suboptimal way from the district heating system to the internal heating system of the customer. The PhD project requires knowledge and competence within district heating, datahandling, data analysis, statistics and machine learning. The project is done in collaboration with VITO, Belgium.
