Numerical investigations of Achilles tendon mechanobiology, under supervision of dr. Hanifeh Khayyeri and Prof Hanna Isaksson. This research is performed at the department of Biomedical Engineering, Lund University, Lund, Sweden. These PhD studies are part of the BioMEP (Biomedical Engineering and MEdical Physics) doctoral programme. We performed a numerical investigation of the effect of unloading on the mechanical properties of rat Achilles tendon. Subsequently, we developed a computational model to study mechanobiological mechanisms underlying tendon healing in ruptured Achilles tendon.
