I am a Ph.D. student at the Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship. My research is about entrepreneurial learning in technology-based ventures. The fundamental question driving my doctoral research is: how technology-based ventures develop, through entrepreneurial learning, competencies that underlie their capability to transform entrepreneurial ideas into new or improved products or services? The overarching aim is to develop a conceptual and empirical understanding of learning as a dynamic and multilevel process that starts at the individual level and ends at the organizational level, thus filling a theoretical gap in entrepreneurial learning literature where research has often focused on the individual and organisational levels of learning with no clear understanding of how these levels connect with each other. The research suggests that the transition from individual to the organization is better understood by looking at learning processes at the team level and the implications these processes have on the evolution of innovation in the entrepreneurial process. The research is qualitative, building on a range of tools including semi-structured interviews, observations, electronic mails and corporate documents.
