Zoltan Kekecs

, Ph.D.

After receiving my PhD at Eotvos Lorand University in Behavioral Psychology, I became a Post-doctoral scholar at Baylor University, Waco, TX. I later joined the Patient Safety and Translational Research Centre at Imperial College London as a Research Associate. Currently I am a Post-doctoral Fellow at Lund University doing individual research.

I have a particular interest in the effects of therapeutic suggestions and hypnosis in medicine, and in the psychophysiological and endocrine mechanisms involved in mind-body medicine interventions.

Recently my research also covers the improvement of credibility of psychological research.

I have more than 30 peer reviewed papers on these and related topics and have written several book chapters. I have been successful in securing external research funding, and I have been awarded multiple awards recognizing my professional achievements, such as the Early Career Achievement Award from the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis or the Presidential award from the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis.

I am also active in the professional societies. Between 2014 and 2015 I was the treasurer of the American Psychological Association Division 30, and since 2015 I am the secretary of the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis.
