Damage mechanisms in bone

Description

The project aims at improving our understanding of the damage mechanisms in bone tissue. Image analysis in combination with mechanical analysis at different length scales (organ scale down to the building blocks in bone) will serve as the basis for developing patient specific computational models of bone fracture mechanics. The project is mainly focused on numerical studies using the finite element method.
