eSSENCE@LU 3:3 - Aeroelastic feather control – New concepts for wing design
The goal is to develop computational fluid structure interaction models of the advanced biological structure of bird feathers. The models will be developed based on a combination of experimental and numerical approaches. The aim is to study efficiency and passive aerodynamic control of flight feathers using computational experiments. The long term goal is to use the gained knowledge in studying and designing new wing concepts for aircraft and wind turbine energy industries.
