Sails on the horizon: a craft-oriented study on the change in craft-tradition that put sails on Scandinavian boats 500-800 AD
The project's aim is to study the process that introduced the use of sails on Scandinavian boats. Prehistoric tools are one of the mayor clues to our understanding of the crafts of the past, and the technology choices of the societies. In my project I study the textile tools from different contexts to shed light on the production and crafts that incorporated the sail or initiated its production.
