Subsidies and the French-Swedish relations 1631-1795: motifs and impact

Project: Research

Layman's description

The aim is to study the motives and effects of French subsidies paid to Sweden in 1631–1795. Payment and receipt of subsidies could have consequences that went far beyond the military and fiscal effects commonly referred to, affecting public opinion, political and economic relations, and social mobility. Consider, then, that France paid subsidies more than 50 years between 1631 and 1795.
