Dinámicas territoriales y desarrollo rural en la Argentina: el Programa Social Agropecuario y las ferias francas en la provincia de Misiones

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

The object of study of this article is the Agriculture Social Program (PSA) and its interaction with diverse local actors in the constitution of the farmers' markets in the province of Misiones, Northeastern Argentina. These markets are social and political spaces for commercialization of small scale agriculture production. The first one emerged in 1995 thanks to the participation of a network of actors: the PSA, the provincial government, the municipalities and many other organizations working in rural areas in the province, such as the Missionary Agrarian Movement (MAM), the Institute of Social Development and Human Promotion, the Social Pastoral, the National Institute of Agriculture Technology (INTA), the Catholic Church (Cáritas) and the Network of Organic Agriculture of Misiones, among others. The emerging institutional network of these cooperation might be conductive towards particular territorial dynamics and a more inclusive local rural development.
