Forskning

I mainly do Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), with applications in basic and clinical neuroscience of the human brain. Being a physicist, I strive to turn clinical MRI scanners, the happy snappy cameras of the radiologists, into instruments for precise quantitative measurements - now mainly at the ultrahigh field scanner of the National 7T facility. All for the purpose to help the national users to determine volumes, concentrations of neurometabolites, and biophysical properties of tissue. Besides, I like scanning objects that are not really meant to be scanned in clinical scanners, like small animals or fixed brains. In my spare time I try to solve mathematical problems related to MRI.
