My new 4-year long research project (2020-2023) is financed by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, concerns the anti-vaccination movement. The growing vaccination hesitancy in Sweden, characterized by extensive engagement on the internet, constitutes the empirical focus. The project also has a method developing purpose in examining how quantitaive (language technology) and qulitative (ethnographic) method can be combined to an effective tool for exploring how vaccination discussions are established, emitted and circulated on the internet. Since 2009 I have been employed as Senior Lecturer in Media Studies and Journalism, Department of Communication and Media, Lund University, and became Head of Department July 2016. I am a trained ethnographer with a theoretical interest in phenomenology. I have studied mediated scandals in a Swedish context, with focus on the emotions these moral moments of drama arouse, both in the individual and in society. I am also a trained journalist, and have worked for the Swedish Public Service radio and television.
