Forskning

My thesis is about evaluating EEG as a prognostic tool after cardiac arrest. We also want to identify EEG-patterns correlating with different degree of brain damage and outcome, which will reflect the intensive care given. With reliable early prognostic information we can optimize the medical treatment for the individual patient, perhaps minimize the brain damage and improve the possibilities for recovery. We want to put effort and resources into the patients who have a chance to survive with good outcome and minimize the risk that patients go into a chronic vegetative state.
