Ulrika K. Nettelbladt is a Senior Professor in Logopedics at Lund University in Sweden. Nettelbladt completed her Ph.D. in Phonetics in 1983, was appointed Associate Professor in Logopedics in 1992, and Professor in Logopedics in 1999 at Lund University. She worked as a clinical speech-language therapist from 1970 until 1988. Her research interests are children with language impairment, and also communication difficulties in children with other kinds of functional disabilities such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorders and cerebral palsy. She has also a strong interest in bilingual children with language impairment. A recent branch of research is the study of language and pragmatic difficulties in clients with the Swedish prison and probation system.

The links between pragmatic development and phonology, in particular prosody and phonotactic structure, grammar and lexical development. Bilingual children with language impairment, specifically Swedish-Arabic children. Language intervention in mono- and bilingual children with language impairment. Language impairment in children with other functional disabilities such as cerebral palsy, ADHD and autism spectrum disorders. The history of the study of speech-language pathology and child language impairment. Currently also involved in writing and editing textbooks in Swedish.
