Peer-led sex education among adults with intellectual disability: Opportunities and challenges among educators, recipients and organizations

The overall objective of this project is to gain in-depth knowledge on peer-led sex education among adults (age 21-45) with intellectual disabilities. The specific aims are to understand what peer-led sex education entails for educators and participants with intellectual disabilities and to explore organizations’ involvement in peer-led sex education, and to develop and test a survey tool to measure sexual knowledge, attitudes and behaviours. This will enable development of a conceptual model for peer-led sex education and a tool for measuring sexual health amongst people with intellectual disabilities in Sweden.
