AI and discrimination — difficulties in addressing moving targets: The European AI Act

In this talk, Larsson presented on AI governance by using examples of Swedish discrimination supervision and the European AI Act.

The event was a half-day hybrid event both online and in Brasilia in Brazil, and focused on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights in order to promote discussion on how artificial intelligence can be used to promote and protect human rights in Brazil and around the world. The host was a group of ten embassies in Brasilia, including Sweden's as well as the National School of Public Administration (ENAP) in Brasilia and the Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights (OHCHR).

The event was set to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as well as International Human Rights Day (Dec 10th, 2023). The event started with opening remarks with representatives from ENAP, OHCHR and the HRCG co-hosts (Canada and Sweden), followed by two thematic panels with Brazilian, Canadian, European and Scandinavian experts from the public and private sectors speaking on:
● AI regulation and governance
● AI and diversity, coding bias
