European Historical Culture(s) Since the End
of the Cold War
Авторская аннотация к курсу:
The series will focus on attempts to construct a common
«European» historical culture in Western and Central Europe after
the end of the Cold War in 1989 through searching for the way
how to come to terms with traumatic European past. A special
attention will be paid to the role of the memory of the two most
tragic and violent European events of the 20th Century – the
crimes of Hitler´s Germany and Stalin´s Soviet Union – in this
process of «Europeanisation».
