Stump harvest is one of the methods, which could be used to reduce the concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and to reach the prevailing environmental targets. However, the effects of this treatment are unclear and could perhaps increase emissions of greenhouse gases from surface to atmosphere. Therefore, in this thesis closed static chamber measurements have been done on CO2, CH4 and N2O to investigate if there were any differences between fluxes of theses gases from stump harvest and site preparation. The measurements were conducted during the fall in 2010 and have been done on two plots, one that is treated with site preparation (mounding) and one that is treated with stump harvest followed by mounding. Relationships between the gases and parameters as pH, C-, N-stock and CN ratio in soil, soil moisture, ground water table and soil temperature were investigated. Additionally, relations between high and low fluxes of the greenhouse gases and also if emissions from disturbed soil differed compared to undisturbed soil were studied.
