Title: Four Facets of AI Transparency.Abstract: Transparency in artificial intelligence (AI) can mean many things, but is at the same time a central focus for both scientific and regulatory attention. Therefore, this talk elaborates on "four facets" of particular relevance to AI transparency as an interdisciplinary concept, contrasting computational notions with those in information studies and law. This is of possible relevance to both issues of governance of AI as such, as well as for how to think of and communicate risk under the scope of trustworthy AI. These are (1) explainable AI (or xAI), (2) mediation and communication, (3) AI literacy (or literacies), and (4) legal opacity.
