This paper investigates both the transnational and the local circulation that took place via clerical book collections from the period 1685–1810. I chart how knowledge could cross territorial, linguistic, and cultural boundaries through imported books and translated works. Moreover, I show how knowledge continued to circulate locally within and beyond the clerical estate.
