Human rights are increasingly a focus of research in the social sciences. The next RIVERS online seminar addresses the epistemological and methodological challenges of conducting qualitative research and legal ethnography within the human rights institutions of the United Nations. Join us on 17 May 2021 from 03.00 to 05.00 p.m. (CEST) on Zoom!

The event will feature Julie Billaud, Associate Professor of Anthropology at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Miia Halme-Tuomisaari, Associate Professor of Human Rights Studies at Lund University, and Maria Sapignoli, Assistant Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Milan. Our three panellists will comment on their rich experience in legal and social anthropology research within different human rights institutions of the United Nations.
