CALIFA detector laboratory

Infrastruktur

    Information

Namn på nationell/internationell infrastruktur som denna infrastruktur tillhör

The work in the detector laboratory is connected (is central to) the participation in the R3B experiment within the NUSTAR pillar at the new FAIR facility for nuclear physics. Personnel and instrumentation work within the SFAIR consortium as part of the Swedish FAIR activities. The laboratory is also used to develop detectors for use at the ISOLDE facility at CERN. The laboratory also hosts international partners.

    Beskrivning

The detector laboratory comprises equipment for performance and acceptance tests of scintillator crystals. The components include sampling ADCs with FPGA pulse shape analysis firmware, dedicated preamplifiers, an XY-scanning table for light output linearity tests and data acquisition equipment. Gigs and related equipment for mounting and testing of APDs, e.g temperature and voltage dependence.

    Utrustning och resurser

Dedicated DAQ systems for readout of sampling ADCs for pulseshape analysis (FEBEX). XY-table for light output linearity measurements. Dark box for scintillator crystal APD readout. Temperature driving peltier element. Desiccator storage. Oven for optical coupling curing.

The laboratory is used to develop and test new detectors. No collections, digital or physical are made

    Erbjudna tjänster

The laboratory can be used for detector performance tests, particularly scintillator based detectors.

    Styrning av infrastrukturen

Organised by Prof. J. Cederkäll and Doc. P. Golubev as part of Swedish FAIR activities within the R3B experimental program. Several working groups exist within the program for different instrumentation of which the CALIFA WG uses the facility in Lund.
