Information
Beskrivning
Facility for high resolution and multi-channel analysis of microbial metabolism in soil and water. By using a combination of optic micro-sensors and an incubator system with high temperature control, the facility performs continuous non-invasive measurements of O2 concentrations and pH in between 30 and 240 microcosms of flexible size. The infrastructure is intended for sample-intense scientific approaches, including multi-factorial experimental designs, online monitoring of organic matter degradation and in vitro analyses of natural process rates. It is mainly used for liquid samples, i.e. soil water, groundwater or surface water samples.
Utrustning och resurser
Temperature chamber ‘PU3J’ (408 liter) from ESPEC, Japan.
Flexible oxygen sensing system, ‘Oxy-10’ from PreSen, Germany. Three units are included in the infrastructure, allowing oxygen saturation to be continuously measured on up to 30 samples of any volume (500 ml to 2000 ml flasks are often used).
Oxygen and/or pH sensing ‘SensorDish Reader’ system (SDR) from PreSens Germany, for monitoring of up to 240 samples simultaneous. Used mainly with 5 ml microcosms (sensor vials), but can measure on volumes between 0.5 and 60 ml using standard accessories.
